How long to wait before you check
Most "where is my ITIN" worry is really "has enough time passed?" The IRS gives a window, and it is longer in two cases: applications sent in tax season (January 15 to April 30) and applications from overseas.IRS
The IRS says to allow about 9 to 11 weeks when you apply from overseas or during tax season. Timing depends on the IRS.IRS Our how it works page shows the whole timeline, and our guide to what affects processing time explains the delays.
